Digital Paid Media Strategist
Clockwork seeks a digital paid media strategist with a strong analytical mindset to develop and oversee strategic paid media services. The role involves research, strategic planning, and maintaining high standards of paid media excellence within the agency.
The ideal candidate should have extensive knowledge of the digital paid media landscape and take a holistic approach to achieving client objectives. They should excel in identifying audience insights and relevant channels, as well as delivering impactful reports.
We are looking for a proactive and passionate paid media professional who excels at problem-solving and collaboration. This role involves working with a team of skilled strategists, servicing a diverse range of client brands in South Africa and internationally.
The ideal candidate will be responsible for:
- Formulating paid media strategies with a focus on achieving clients’ business objectives.
- Collaborating and synergising with brand or communications strategists to deliver comprehensive strategic solutions.
- Propelling clients’ businesses forward by closely partnering with the account management teams to enhance value and strategically expand client accounts.
- Enhancing Clockwork’s paid media services by developing proposals and participating in pitches.
- Identifying and sharing new opportunities in the realm of paid media and providing additional training to the broader strategy team.
- Fostering internal collaboration with the client service, data, creative and social teams to execute integrated digital campaigns for clients.
- Engaging with paid media suppliers, encompassing briefing, overseeing implementation, and reporting.
- Maintaining a holistic perspective and offering continuous strategic support and advice to clients capable of influencing the strategy and initiating strategic shifts.
- Demonstrating the ability to work independently with minimal supervision and meet deadlines.
The ideal candidate:
- Possesses a degree in Media Planning, Digital Marketing, or a related field.
- Holds a minimum of 3 years’ experience as a Paid Media Strategist.
- Exhibits excellent communication skills, both verbally and in writing.
- Embraces critical thinking as a core competency.
- Operates with a deadline-oriented, organised, and detail-oriented approach.
- Stays up to date on emerging digital trends, developments from the ‘Big Four’ platforms, and local media players.
- Demonstrates strong interpersonal skills, facilitating engagement with clients and internal teams to advance strategies.
- Ideally, possesses experience across both B2B and B2C brands.
