As Henry Ford once said, “Anyone who stops learning is old, whether at twenty or eighty. Anyone who keeps learning stays young.” This quote resonates with me, and that’s why I’m always looking for new and innovative ways to help my team stay up to speed with the ever-evolving landscape of digital marketing.

When I stumbled upon this quote, we were in the middle of trying to create something that could be built within these three confines that we set for ourselves:

  • Encourage curiosity and dialogue about digital.
  • Provide opportunities that could directly impact our daily services for all of Clockwork.
  • Complete the above two points at no cost to anyone.

That’s why Clockwork is excited to share an initiative we have created called Gurugram. This initiative is designed to tick all the boxes above. Gurugram identifies free courses, news articles, podcasts, YouTube videos, and other resources related to digital marketing that are available for our staff to upskill themselves.

To ensure that our teams have easy access to these resources, we have created a SharePoint site where all the information is housed. This site is regularly updated with new content, and we distribute updates on a weekly basis via Teams and email to the entire company. By providing our staff with access to high-quality digital marketing resources, we are empowering them to take control of their own learning and development.

The all-encompassing nature of Gurugram ensures that employees can develop a deep understanding of the various digital marketing disciplines and stay up to date with the latest trends and best practices in each area. Moreover, the initiative is free, ensuring that everyone can develop their skills and knowledge, regardless of their financial situation.

We are also looking at ways to use the certifications earned through Gurugram in performance reviews. By attaching the certificates to performance, we are incentivizing our staff to engage with the resources we have provided and ensuring that they are taking their learning and development seriously. This approach helps us to track and measure the impact of the initiative and identify areas where we may need to provide additional support or resources.

In addition to the above, we believe that this constant stream of knowledge will help build better cross-functional knowledge and teams, something key in digital, as so many touchpoints cross over into many different disciplines.

My personal goal is to help build confidence. Confidence in people allows them to become more competent in their work and feel more self-assured in their abilities to tackle challenges and achieve goals. Confidence will provide the ability to enhance job performance through proficiency, improve problem-solving abilities through learning new techniques and approaches, increase their career prospects by providing a sense of purpose and direction, and foster a growth mindset by viewing setbacks as opportunities and not failures.

In conclusion, the future of digital marketing is so bright, and it’s important that we equip ourselves with the knowledge and skills needed to stay ahead of the game. By providing all-encompassing, free resources and incentivizing our staff to engage with them, we are ensuring that everyone has the opportunity to develop their skills and knowledge and remain competitive in a rapidly evolving industry. With Gurugram, we are empowering our staff to take control of their own learning and development and building a team that is ready to tackle whatever the future holds.
